DEGREE PROGRAMS

POST BASIC B.SC NURSING DEGREE COURSE

 

Course Detail: Kol Valley institute of Nursing started Post Basic B.Sc Nursing degree course under Himachal Pradesh University in the year 2019.
Duration: 2years
Seats Available: 30
Syllabus: As prescribed by Indian Nursing Council and H.P University
Attendance 80% attendance in theory and 100% attendance in practical with all the clinical
Requirements are compulsory for appearing in final examination.
Examination: Final exams will be conducted by HP University annually in the end of the session
Objectives: Under the aims of K.V.I.N the following are the main objectives of the course. At the completion of the course the graduates are expected to:  
1. Interpret, demonstrate and administer high quality nursing care to people of all ages in homes , hospitals and other community agencies in urban and rural areas.
2. Apply knowledge from the physical, biological and behavioral sciences in assessing the health status of individuals.
3. Participate as members of the health care team in promotive, preventive and restorative health care delivery system of the country.
4. Demonstrate skill in teaching and supervising nursing care both in hospital and in community setting.
5. Show knowledge on the latest trends and technology in improving the quality of nursing care.
6. Recognize the need for continued learning, and for personal and professional growth.
7. Be self driven in evidence based research studies in various setting to improve the quality of nursing care.

DIPLOMA PROGRAMS

General Nursing & Midwifery

 

Course Detail: The Institute offers Diploma General Nursing and Midwifery course. It's a three years diploma program.
Course Fees:
Course Affiliation:  Himachal Pradesh Nurses Registration Council
Admission Criteria: 1.The candidates should attain the age of 17 years on or before 31-12-2010 which shall be determined as per entry in the Certificate of Matriculation / Higher Secondary or its equivalent examination from any recognized Board / University.
2. The candidates should have passed the Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2) from any recognized Board/University with a minimum of 45% (40% in case of SC/ST candidates).  
3. A candidate with compartment in 10+2 examination will be considered for admission in case he/she produces the proof of passing the examination on the day of Counseling.
Note: Married candidates are also eligible for admission. Admission against 50% open seats and 50% state seats will be made on the basis of merit of the qualifying examination.

BACHELORS PROGRAMS

Bachelor of Science (Nursing)

 

Course Detail: The Institute offers Bachelor of Science in Nursing course. It's a four years degree program.
Course Fees:
Course Affiliation:  Himachal Pradesh University
Admission Criteria: 1.The candidates should attain the age of 17 years on or before 31-12-2010 which shall be determined as per entry in the Certificate of Matriculation / Higher Secondary or its equivalent examination from any recognized Board / University.
2. . The candidates should have passed the Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2) from any recognized Board/University with a minimum of 45% (40% in case of SC/ST candidates) aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. The candidates are also required to pass in 5th subject of 10+2 Examination.  
3. A candidate with compartment in 10+2 examination will be considered for admission in case he/she produces the proof of passing the examination on the day of Counseling.
Note: Married candidates are also eligible for admission. Admission against 50% open seats and 50% state seats will be made on the basis of merit of the qualifying examination.
